Parent / Teacher Organization
The purpose of the Skinner Road School Parent/Teacher Organization (PTO) is to promote the welfare of the school. We also bring the home and the school into a close relationship, so that parents and teachers may work as partners for excellence in education.
We strive to develop united efforts between educators and parents to secure a quality education for all students.
We accomplish these goals by raising funds through a series of fund raisers held throughout the school year.
How can you help Skinner Road School earn money from local grocery stores? By signing up at the following stores, which in turn helps the Skinner Road School PTO use the funds to buy things like school supplies, gym and playground equipment.

Skinner Road School in Vernon,CT will be having a Touch a Truck event on Saturday, April 28, 2012. This event will allow children and their parents in our community to get up close to a variety of different vehicles, such as emergency vehicles, tractor trailer cabs, oil trucks and construction vehicles, to name a few. This event will also allow your business to advertise your services to the community and in turn drum up sales for your business or interest in your organization.
The purpose of this event is to raise funds for the 5th grade class promotion event. We do not receive any funds from the Town of Vernon for the promotion events which includes a bus trip to the Boston Museum of Science. I anticipate at least 150 people at this event. The 5th grade classes in the past have loved the trip to Boston and we spend an easy $1,000.00 per year in funding this trip, as well as, a t-shirt and book for the 5th grade child.
Set up for the event will be anytime after 7AM. Start of the event will be at 9AM. Event will be over at 1 PM, clean up will be done by 2PM. Let me know if you can send a vehicle to the event and help support our school community.
