We would like to introduce you to our school.
Northeast School has been a part of the Vernon community since 1954. A neighborhood
school, we serve approximately 300 students. Many of our students are the second and third
generation of their families to attend Northeast School. Our numbers, however, also
include students whose frequent moves make them academically vulnerable. Our staff of 48
focuses on high expectations, individual validation, and the creation of community. Our
curriculum is rigorous, challenging, and creative. Our students work hard, play hard, and
feel they belong. Our philosophy, practice, and performance has earned us a Blue Ribbon
from both the Connecticut Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Education. We
teach our children that they can make a difference to themselves and their community by
being effective, responsible individuals. |
