Text Box: Do you want to have your child be a better student in school? Do you wish that your child achieved at goal level on the Connecticut Mastery? This year, subsequent to the availability of funds and adequate student enrollment, Vernon will offer excellent, affordable instruction to improve skills tested on the CMT and to improve performance in the classroom for grades K-5. Students can attend four weeks Monday—Thursday for $60. or five weeks Monday—Thursday for $75. The dates for the summer academy are Monday, June 30 through Thursday, July 31, 2008. Classes will be held from 9:00-11:15 a.m. at Skinner Road School. Transportation will be available to and from NES, MSS, LSS, CRS and Talcott Park. The summer academy is fully staffed with a head teacher, classroom teachers, a nurse, and teacher assistants. Class size is small, allowing for individualized and small group instruction. The summer school academy will be a great opportunity for your child to maintain/improve their school achievement and performance on the Connecticut Mastery Test. All 4-year-old children, to be 5-years-old on or before                           January 1, 2009 must register for Kindergarten.  Registration began on March 18th.   Registration hours are from 8:00—3:00 p.m. M—F.                                            You will need a Birth Certificate, current immunization  record and 2 forms of proof of residence.

ART ENRICHMENT WEEK

June 30—July 3

9:00 a.m.—11:00 a.m.

For Student going into Grades 3-5 in September Nine hours of instruction for $25.00.  Are you looking to enhance your child's artistic ability and interest?  The Art Enrichment Workshop will provide a means for your child to further explore drawing, illustration, and cartooning techniques.  Students will create a cartoon storyboard while learning to write, illustrate, and communicate a story with a humorous end.

Mr. Girard, a Vernon elementary art teacher, will be the teacher.

Summer Construction planned for CRS…  Our school will be under construction this summer.  The floors are being retiled. 

The school will be closed to the public as of Monday, June 16 through August 19, 2008.
